As the largest geothermal market in central Europe, Bavaria remains an attractive market for the geothermal industry. Opportunities and financing of development will be discussed in a round table Invest.Geothermal at the upcoming Praxisforum Geothermie.

During the upcoming Praxisforum.Geothermie in Munich/ Germany, a round table „Invest Geothermal“ will be discussing opportunities on the largest geothermal market in Mid-Europe

The Bavarian Molasse Basin is the most active geothermal market in Mid-Europe and offers many incentives for investors. This, among others, will be one of the top-issues of the Round Table „Invest Geothermal“, taking place within the expert conference of the 4th Praxisforum Geothermie.Bayern on October 5, 2016. Statement partners will come from Enel, Allianz Global Investors, Zouk Capital, Provest, and Bayerische Landesbank. Participants are invited to end the day in the Praxisforum Lounge after the congress.

There are 27 active projects and four under construction. There are 50 drilled wells that include one of the deepest and longest geothermal wells worldwide, and only one of them is announced as dry: the numbers count for themselves thus making the Bavarian Molasse Basin one of the most attractive geothermal markets in Mid-Europe. “A success rate of 98 per cent for deep geothermal projects is impressive“, said Burkhard Grundmeier from the German Association of Oil, Gas and Geoenergy (Bundesverband Erdgas, Erdöl und Geoenergie), who will present a talk in Forum III: Drilling challenges in the pre-Alpine region.

The opportunities of Bavaria‘s geothermal energy will be discussed at the Round Table „Invest Geothermal“ established for the first time within the expert conference Praxisforum Geothermie.Bayern 2016, taking place on October 5, 2016 in Munich/Germany. Moderated by Alexander Richter, ThinkGeoEnergy, panel members of the round table will introduce the discussion with brief impulse statements. The Italian energy provider Enel will focus on its dedication within the geothermal project Weilheim. Further prominent speakers are Massimo Resta, Partner at Zouk Capital, London, Thomas Engelmann from Allianz Global Investors, Michael Braun from Provest, Jens-Peter Walter, Bayerische Landesbank, and Benjamin Richter, expert for base-loadable, renewable energy and district heating at Rödl & Partner in Munich. Also he gives a positive statement on the Bavarian geothermal market and this year’s transactions: „ For the first time corporate shares from companies with operating power plants were transferred to the satisfaction of all partners involved. Geothermal industry in Bavaria has absolved an important step in development and attracts more and more international institutional investors.”

The expert conference Praxisforum Geothermie.Bayern takes place for the fourth time, in Munich/Germany, House of Bavarian Economy (Haus der Bayerischen Wirtschaft). Participants, sponsors and speakers are invited to the Praxisforum Lounge in the eve of the congress day, at 7 p.m. to enjoy a pleasant atmosphere and fingerfood, beer and fine wine while making business contacts and exchanging information. Participants are free of charge.

The Turboden field trip starting in the morning of October 6, 2016, will lead to the heating plant in Pullach and the geothermal heating and power plant in Sauerlach. Pullach is one of the first geothermal heating plants in Bavaria with longest experience in producing heating and cooling. They have released an innovative pricing model, recently that will be introduced on the congress day in Forum II. Turboden will present the currently most powerful geothermal plant in Sauerlach, owned by the local energy supplier Stadtwerke München. The field trip sponsor will be available for questions and answers throughout the day. Regular deadline for registration ends on September 28, 2016.
