Icelandic exploration services firm ISOR signs service contract to support a drilling campaign to start this summer on the Caribbean island state of Dominica, a former British colony.

Previously reported from Dominica in the Caribbean, Icelandic geothermal drilling specialist Iceland Drilling just secured a drilling contract for a geothermal project to commence this summer.

Icelandic exploration services firm ISOR has signed a corresponding service agreement with the project.

The services to be provided by ISOR, are threefold: services on well geology work, including temperature and pressure measurements during the drilling campaign, to carry out flow tests on the wells and fluid sampling, as well as environmental monitoring related to groundwater control associated with drilling and flow testing.

It is estimated that the work will start by the end of June/ July and will continue for 4-5 months. The environmental monitoring will last longer or up to 10-12 months.

Dominica is a small volcanic island in the southern Caribbean (West Indies).  It’s an independent, a former British colony, with a population of about 70,000. The island is about 750 square kilometers. Considerable geothermal heat is on the island and are now plans to drill three slim hole wells on the southern island, in an area called Wotten Wave, about 5 km east the capital of Roseau.
