Sproule has job openings for a geothermal engineering consultant and a geoscientist to support their Dutch geothermal operations.
Global energy consulting firm Sproule has posted two job openings to support the expansion of their geothermal operations in the Netherlands. The two positions are as follows:
Geothermal Engineering Consultant

The Geothermal Engineering Consultant will work alongside multiple disciplines within the team (incl. external contractors) to lead and coordinate various well and production-related services for producing assets and development projects.
Apart from projects within the operations team, the chosen candidate will also support geothermal consultancy projects with technical support and possibly also in a project leader position. This role acts as an integral part of the team and contributes to enabling our clients to make critical decisions and support them with safe and reliable delivery of geothermal operations.
The position will be based in Voorburg, Netherlands with occasional travel required nationally and internationally.

Geothermal Geoscientist

Throughout the year Sproule’s Geothermal Team continuously supports 150+ MWth of installed geothermal capacity with production engineering support and/or geohazard management. This includes geohazard monitoring (induced seismicity and subsidence) for six geothermal Operators (16+ doublets) in the Netherlands.
The chosen candidate will operate Sproule’s geohazard monitoring service for the company’s clients, while using an analytical/programming skillset to develop Sproule’s in-house tools further. Additionally, the Geothermal Geoscientist will carry out seismic risk and hazard analyses and advise clients on the intersection of subsurface risks and stakeholder management.
Apart from these ongoing services, the Geothermal Geoscientist will work alongside multiple geothermal disciplines within the team to perform geological assessments for national and international projects to enable clients to make critical decisions and support them with safe and reliable delivery of their geothermal developments.
Note: Only candidates with excellent Dutch (fluent) and English written and oral communication skills will be considered.

In 2022, Sproule acquired Veegeo, a Rotterdam-based geothermal advisory firm providing operational management and consulting services to geothermal companies, investors, and governmental agencies. The acquisition combined Veegeo’s significant geothermal expertise with Sproule’s broader Energy Advisory business.
