In its budget for 2018/19 released today, the Kenyan government has announced the allocation of Sh 12.7 billion ($125 million) for geothermal exploration for the next year.

In the release of the budget for 2018/19 the Kenyan government has announced the allocation of Sh 12.7 billion for geothermal energy and Sh 4.8 billion for oil and gas exploration, according to CS (Henry) Rotich, the Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury of Kenya.

This translates into roughly $125 million for further geothermal exploration in Kenya.
