The National Geothermal Academy will feature a Geothermal Geoscience Course, June 11-20, 2014 at the University of Nevada in Reno.

Announced today, the annual National Geothermal Academy is taking place again this year, June 11-20, 2014 at the University of Nevada in Reno.

The National Geothermal Academy presents a 10-day intensive course focused on geothermal geology, geochemistry, and geophysics taught by experts. The program is offered for 2 credits at either the undergraduate or graduate level, or as professional development.

The course plans to cover geochemistry, geothermometry, remote sensing, heat flow, field mapping, structural settings, 3D modeling, geophysical modeling, gravity, reflection seismology, and magnetotellurics. A three-day field trip to Long Valley caldera in California is included. This course is open to domestic and international participants. Room and board is available.
