Danish Innargi A/S has been granted three geothermal permits for the greater Copenhagen area, as well as for Ringsted and Holbaek.

In a release on its website, the Danish Energy Agency (Energistyrelsen) reports that it has granted new geothermal exploration and exploitation permits.

On September 1, 2019, the Danish Energy Agency received two applications for a permit for exploration and extraction of geothermal energy from resp. Innargi A / S (formerly APMH Invest IV A / S) and Geotermisk Operatørselskab A / S (GEOOP).

The Danish Energy Agency has assessed the applications according to the criteria set out in Section 18 b of the Basic Act and the invitation letter for geothermal energy. The criteria concern the applicant’s financial and technical competencies as well as the quality and scope of the work program offered. The scope and quality of the work program assessed in relation to the exploration needs in the areas applied for has been the decisive selection criterion in the selection of a winner.

Following submission to the Climate, Energy and Supply Committee, the Minister of Climate, Energy and Supply has granted permission for exploration and extraction of geothermal energy in the Capital Region, Ringsted and Holbæk. The permit has been notified to Innargi A / S.
