Kenya's Energy Cabinet Secretary has appointed Eng. Ole Nchoe as new Managing Director and CEO. Geothermal Development Company (GDC) in Kenya.

Following a recommendation by the GDC Board of Directors, and approval by the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, the Board has appointed Eng. Johnson P. Ole Nchoe as Managing Director and CEO of the Geothermal Development Company, effective immediately.

Eng. Ole Nchoe served as a Chief Manager, IT & Telecommunications at the Kenya Power Company until 2013.

His recent assignment was a two-year tour of duty at the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) where he served as a Director, and made a great contribution in helping the company establish robust systems. He was among a team of consultants in a donor-funded programme geared towards re-building the Electricity network in Liberia. Eng. Ole Nchoe is a registered engineer and has 30 years of leadership and management experience.

He holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) and a BSc (Eng, Elect) both from the University of Nairobi. The Board warmly welcomes Eng. Johnson ole Nchoe as he joins the GDC 5000MW Team.
