The Geothermal Development Company in Kenya has announced Mr. Paul Ngugi as the newly appointed Managing Director and CEO.

Kenya’s Geothermal Development Company has announced the appointment of Mr. Paul Ngugi as the new Managing Director and CEO with a three-year term. Ngugi replaces Jared Othieno, whose term ended on 18 April 2023.

Ngugi has 25 years of experience in the geothermal sector, having been a Drilling Engineer at KenGen and as Head of Geothermal Planning at Olkaria. He then moved to GDC in 2009 and was appointed as the General Manager for Business Development in charge of Corporate Strategy, Planning, and Fundraising. He would later simultaneously become the General Manager, Drilling and Infrastructure and the General Manager for Strategy, Research, and Innovation.

Ngugi also currently serves as the Chairman of the Geothermal Association of Kenya (GAK).

We extend our congratulations to Mr. Paul Ngugi for his appointment and look forward to the new direction that GDC will take under his leadership.
