Please sign this petition for the foundation of a Young Geothermal Chapter to serve as a platform for students, PhD candidates and young professionals in the geothermal industry.

A group of energetic students and young professionals is now planning the foundation of a Young Geothermal Chapter to be part of the International Geothermal Association (IGA).

Having met the individuals behind this effort, I strongly support the group and hope that they will be successful in the establishment of the Chapter as planned.

While I know there will be some discussion on what “Young” would imply and some people actually would refer to themselves at “young at heart”, it is I think a good idea to represent interests of the younger generation in our industry.

The group has now published a petition on GoPetition.com. … here the invitation:

“Geothermal energy is a very complex combination of different disciplines, which seeks people who need to work hand in hand and who need to know and understand each other. Especially the younger generation is fundamental for the future success of this sector.

To enhance the exchange and networking process, a global community focusing on the development of human resources for the geothermal sector shall be founded.

By now, the community is named as „Young Geothermal Chapter“(YGC) because its target group consists of students, phd-candidates and young professionals.

The YGC will be organized by a group of people providing a platform with useful information and the opportunity for intercultural, educational and professional exchange.”

I encourage you to Sign the petition via the website.
