The webinar will focus on the European Geothermal Fluid Atlas, one of the main outputs of the REFLECT H2020 project.

The REFLECT project is organising the webinar ‘European Geothermal Fluid Atlas‘ on 17 March 2021, 16:00 – 17:30 CET (Brussels time).

REFLECT is a project under the EU Horizon 2020 program that aims to develop better understanding of the physical and chemical properties of geothermal fluids. The webinar will focus on presenting one of the main outputs of the REFLECT project: the European Geothermal Fluid Atlas. This platform will provide information on geothermal fluid properties across Europe. The data will be public and available to all geothermal operators and stakeholders.

Formerly existing and newly measured data of geothermal fluids from 21 European countries will be visualised in the platform. The layers will provide point feature information presented on a base map, including geography, geology and depth range, as well as physical and chemical properties of fluids. Data of wells, rocks and reservoirs will be also available. The focus is on the fluids used for electricity generation (> 100 °C), but there is also a potential to include data from heat projects.

The host of the webinar will be REFLECT project manager Katrin Kieling (Helmholtz Zentrum Potsdam – Deutsches GeoForschungsZentrum). The speakers will be REFLECT scientific coordinator Simona Regenspurg (Helmholtz Zentrum Potsdam – Deutsches GeoForschungsZentrum) and project partners Éva Hartai and Károly Kovács (University of Miskolc).
