KenGen has released a call for expressions of interest for a consultant to conduct a mid-term review on KenGen's Revamped G2G Strategy.

Kenya Electricity Generating Company  (KenGen) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) for a Consultant for KenGen Revamped G2G Strategy Mid Term Review (Recasting of Horizon I  & III and Implementation support).

In 2008, KenGen developed the Good 2 Great (G2G) transformation strategy to achieve its vision and this has led to significant achievements. To continuously position itself, KenGen revamped its G2G Horizon II strategy in 2016 and identified three aspirational goals to be achieved in the horizon which are:

  • Increase capacity by 2500MW by 2025 to remain relevant player in the market at 50+% share
  • Value Creation
  • Lower Tariffs

There has been significant changes in the business environment that KenGen operates in following the enactment of the Energy Act, 2019 and towards this end, the KenGen Board, together with management has identified the need to embark on an intensive midterm review and recasting of the Revamped G2G Strategy, with a focus on the development and implementation of remaining Horizon II and achieving a robust start of Horizon III, with a focus on enhancing and safeguarding KenGen’s revenues. The review will take into account the changes in the business environment, technological changes and the economic shocks posed by COVID-19.
