TNG and MB Century report first wellhead repair using GWERT in New Zealand

TNG Energy Services and MB Century report having successfully completed a geothermal wellhead repair using TNG's proprietary rigless wellhead repair solution, GWERT, in New Zealand.
In a release, TNG Enterprises Inc. and Century Drilling & Energy Services (NZ) Ltd (“MB Century”), report having completed a wellhead repair using TNG’s proprietary rigless wellhead repair solution, the Geothermal Wellhead Equipment Repair Tool (GWERT).
TNG’s GWERT has completed nearly 400 valve changes across the US, Philippines and Indonesia over the past 18 years. Partnering with TNG enabled MB Century to expeditiously service a wellhead issue on a well near Kawerau, New Zealand for a major operator.
A significant effort to containerize the GWERT was a critical first step to the success of the entire operation. Praise is deserved for both TNG’s and MB Century’s team for getting this done seamlessly. The GWERT was rigged up at the well site without issue. The wellbore was cleaned by running the scraper / mill. TNG assembled the 13-3/8” packer, re-entered the well, and set the packer which enabled the MB Century team to safely remove a section of casing and install all equipment as required. Once the repair was complete TNG retrieved the packer and demobilized from the site.
