In the Germencik district of Ayd?n, with the project with an investment cost of TL 376 million (ca. USD 28 million), greenhouses and fruit drying facilities will be established where geothermal energy will be used.

According to the news shared by a local newspaper, 250 decares (ca. 62 acres) of geothermal greenhouse and a drying facility of 10 thousand square meters will be established in Aydin’s Germencik district, Uzunkum, Morali and Argavli regions by utilizing geothermal energy.

Hez Energy A.S. 50 decares of greenhouses with a high value-added product range using modern technology will be established and these products will be dried and ready for export. The approximate project cost of the work, which is estimated to take 3 years, is calculated as TL 376 million (ca USD 28m).

Some of the products to be produced in geothermal greenhouses are tomatoes, bananas, avocados and dragon fruit. These high value-added products will be exported and contribute to the regional economy and local people. The fully automatic fruit drying facility planned to be established will generate its electricity from renewable energy sources.

In the statement made by the company, it was stated that they are ready to cooperate with the people of the region. “As Hez Energy, the company is ready to cooperate with all the people of the region and other investors, and is ready to make its geothermal resource available to all stakeholders. We want to support not only geothermal greenhouse but also thermal tourism and residential heating projects.”
