The Ministry responsible for Energy in France has issued two geothermal exploration permits to Electerre de France and Fonroche Geothermie in the Massif Central and the Western Pyrenees.

Reported by Electric Light & Power, the French Ministry for Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy has issued two geotheraml exploration permits. The permits are situated in the Massif Central and the Western Pyrenees.

The companies receiving the permits are Electerre de France SAS and Fonroche Geothermie SAS.

Both projects target geothermal areas with estimated temperatures beyond 150 degrees Celsius. There are additional 18 possible permits under consideration with the Ministry in France.
