The objective of the mission is to promote the export competitiveness of renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency in the United States. The Mission will take place between the 12 and the 13th of November 2014.

The International Trade Administration from the Department of Commerce in the U.S. is organizing a mission on renewable energy and energy efficiency to Peru with the objective of promoting renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency.

According to a notice published in the Federal Register, Peru offers several incentives for renewable energy policy, including priority shipping renewable electricity, accelerated depreciation of up to 20% for investments in machinery and equipment that support the deployment of renewable energy and technology-specific auctions.

“Currently, the country aims to generate 5% of clean energy and also has a policy of mandatory blending 7.8% for biodiesel,” recalled the Administration.

Between 10 and 25 companies will be selected to participate in the trade mission. They can involve all companies already doing business in Peru and who want to enter the Peruvian market first according to the news piece.
