NTV Kenya has released an excellent, 22-minute video feature on the Olkaria geothermal field in Kenya. The video takes an intimate look at the site’s surface facilities, thermal manifestations, geology, and the role that the East African Rift Valley plays in making the resource more accessible. The video goes into detail on the decades-long history of development of the geothermal project. The video has been embedded below:
The video ends with a short glimpse of how drilling operations are prepared in Olkaria. There will be a second part to this video that will highlight the actual drilling operations and show the interior of the geothermal power plant. The second video in this series will be shown next week, also by NTV Kenya.
