Geothermal project development is complex and defined by several challenges related to permitting/ licensing, risk management, financing etc. In this webinar we will learn about key legal issues in geothermal development in Germany and beyond by Dr. Torsten Rosenboom and Christian Bauer, Partners at the law firm Watson Farley & Williams in Germany.

The webinar is organised in conjunction with the third edition of the IGC Invest Geothermal Finance & Investment Forum.

IGC Invest provides a platform for geothermal industry leaders and international investors, including private equity, infrastructure, debt, institutional investors and public equity funds, as well as public funding partners such as development banks, funds and institutions. It further is set up to help increase awareness among investors and the geothermal energy industry to educate about opportunities and challenges of investments in energy infrastructure development globally.

Dr. Torsten Rosenboom, Partner at Corporate Group at Watson Farley & Williams, heading Frankfurt office

Mr. Rosenboom’s main areas of practice include cross-border M&A/private equity transactions, joint ventures, inter-company restructurings and general corporate/commercial matters. He also regularly advises on bilateral and multi-party contract negotiations.

He is also recognised as one of Germany’s leading M&A lawyers by business magazine WirtschaftsWoche,

Dr. Christian Bauer, Partner in the Corporate and Energy Group of Watson Farley & Williams, Munich

Mr. Bauer focuses on complex projects in the energy and infrastructure sector. Among his clients are project developers, investors/sponsors, banks as well as the public sector. He supports renewable energy projects with his expertise regarding planning and environmental law. A specific focus lies on deep geothermal energy projects, in which he advises on all types of project and supply agreements including drilling contracts and EPC contracts and has been involved in several key projects of this type in Germany.
