Zorlu Energy plans to establish a 21 MW solar power plant in order to meet the internal consumption of the Kizildere III geothermal power plant (GPP) in Denizli, Turkey.

Following the regulation for hybrid power plants, enterprises with Geothermal Power Plants (JES) started to evaluate hybrid power plant investments to meet their domestic consumption. We recently reported news of the hybrid power plant planned by Zorlu Energy for Denizli Kizildere II GPP.

According to the news in Enerji Gunlugu, Zorlu Energy now plans to establish a solar power plant with a capacity of 21 MW in order to meet the internal consumption of the Kizildere III geothermal power plant in Denizli. A Solar Power Plant (GES) with an installed capacity of 20,6832 MW will be added to the Kizildere III GPP power plant, which is in operation in the Denizli province Saraykoy district and will be transformed into a Combined Renewable Energy Production Facility.

Zorlu Energy predicts that the GES investment planned to meet the domestic consumption needs arising during its 165 MW GPP in Saraykoy, Denizli, will be 267 million TL (approx. USD 15.6 million). The solar power plants to be established in the project are located at 10 different sites, and it is stated that only 2 of them will be rooftop solar power plants.
