New Zealand data visualisation software house Seequent has released an update to its Leapfrog Geothermal software (Leapfrog Geothermal 3.6), the only purpose-built 3D geothermal modelling solution.

New Zealand data visualisation software house Seequent has released an update to its Leapfrog Geothermal software (Leapfrog Geothermal 3.6), the only purpose-built 3D geothermal modelling solution.

The new release adds more geothermal functionality and further integration with leading reservoir engineering and geophysical software.

Streamlining the Geothermal modelling process

Features of Leapfrog Geothermal 3.6 include:

  • Unstructured gridding for TOUGH2 flow models
  • Further improvements to the TOUGH2 workflow
  • Import and visualisation of TETRAD flow models
  • Improved visualisation of geophysical Magneto-Telluric (MT) grids
  • Well cylinder radius scaling based on numeric value
  • Inclination support for well survey measurements
  • Improved graphs and statistics

The release further enhances major features introduced in 3.3, 3.4 and 3.5 including

  • Fault rock types in TOUGH2 models
  • Upscaling of numeric well data
  • Sharing visualisations to View
  • Support for IDW (Inverse Distance Weighted) isosurfacing of geophysical gridded data
  • Time based visualisation of geophysical point data (e.g. micro-seismic)
  • Integration with the Central model management platform
