A personal profile piece in a New Zealand paper on Juliet Newson, President of the International Geothermal Association highlights the power of second choices.

In a personal story on Juliet Newson, the president of the International Geothermal Association (IGA), she gives a personal isight into here second career in geothermal and what she describes as “power of second choices”.

Juliet Newson is a geothermal reservoir modelling engineer for Contact Energy in New Zealand and was elected as President of IGA in 2013.

Describing her background and how she ended up in her geothermal career is an interesting story and could be encouraging for many that still maybe have not found their calling.

I have the pleasure serving on the board of the International Geothermal Association with Juliet and was also able to visit the location of the Te Mihi geothermal power plant and the Wairakei geothermal field near Taupo.

I always find it interesting to learn about people that ended up in geothermal out of passion. For the full piece see link below.
