International geophysical exploration company Echo Seismic Ltd. has launched EchoVision, a specialist division dedicated to geothermal and geotechnical project management worldwide.
EchoVision brings together the technical expertise and practical experience needed to take projects from initial conception through borehole siting, development and ongoing monitoring. For geothermal developers, EchoVision provides one accountable team to plan and manage subsurface investigations, coordinate specialists and deliver the insights needed to inform borehole siting, development and ongoing reservoir monitoring.
Building on its team’s geothermal experience, EchoVision combines expert project management, established workflows and advanced subsurface imaging technology to deliver the insights developers need, faster. Clients can appoint EchoVision to manage a complete subsurface investigation programme or to provide specialist support at individual stages, reducing the burden of coordinating multiple experts and contractors.
Alongside its geothermal offering, EchoVision supports geotechnical clients with project management and subsurface investigations to inform site assessment, engineering design and development decisions.

Seismic imaging as a core capability
Led by experienced geophysicist Rob Kendall, EchoVision combines expertise in geothermal exploration, seismic imaging and project delivery. Early project support includes feasibility assessments, desktop evaluations, GIS planning and subsurface investigation design. As projects progress, EchoVision coordinates permitting, land access, stakeholder engagement and specialist contractors, while integrating technical findings to inform borehole siting and development planning. Monitoring services support understanding of reservoir behaviour during stimulation, injection and production.
Seismic imaging is a core capability within this broader project management offering, helping developers understand geological structures, map faults and define targets before drilling. EchoVision’s technical capabilities include 2D, 3D and 4D reflection seismic, seismic refraction, ambient noise tomography and induced seismicity monitoring, with methods selected around project objectives and site conditions.
The team’s geothermal experience includes a recent 3D seismic survey for the University of York in the UK. Following detailed advance planning led by Echo, the team acquired and delivered a 3D seismic image beneath a 30 km² area of the city in less than 60 days. The survey imaged geothermal targets more than 4,000 metres below the surface, helping inform where to drill and refine well design.
The project required careful coordination of survey design, land access and stakeholder engagement across an urban environment. This combination of technical expertise and practical delivery underpins EchoVision’s approach: identifying constraints early, coordinating the work needed to address them and delivering information in time to support the next project decision.
