With the fact that oil wells normally produce 10 to 20 times more water than they do oil and most of it hot, Al Jazeera makes the case for utilizing them for geothermal applications in a recent video coverage.

In a video report relaesed on its website, news firm Al Jazeera makes a passionate plea on the opportunities provided by hot water as a by product of oil production.

It mentions that oil wells normally produce 10 to 20 times more water than oil and highlights that 2.5 million wells in Texas alone could a possible target for “re-entering” to derive hot water for geothermal applications.
