Announcing changes at ThinkGeoEnergy – introducing new Editor-in-Chief ThinkGeoEnergy website
Alexander Richter 16 Oct 2022

With further professionalisation of our activities, we are proud to announce the appointment of Carlo Cariaga as our new Editor-in-Chief, as well as upcoming new elements for our site.

Founded in late 2008, ThinkGeoEnergy has now been reporting on geothermal activities worldwide for about 14 years. A lot has happened in this time, both in the geothermal world and for ThinkGeoEnergy. From the humble beginnings of a simple news blog, to the news platform it is today, it has been a great pleasure building up a platform representing what geothermal has to offer and provide information on ongoing activities both for the sector and the wider world.

As founder and editor of ThinkGeoEnergy, I have steered our activities starting out writing daily blog posts on news from the geothermal world not knowing exactly where things would be going. Having now reached a critical mass, supported by our advertisement and industry partners, I had the chance to hire a great team to help run, operate and push ThinkGeoEnergy and its Spanish- and Turkish-language platforms further.

Some of you might have realised that in the past year or so, more and more news pieces did not have my name on it and instead Carlo Ace Cariaga has been writing and posting news on ThinkGeoEnergy.  As a geochemist by trade with a geothermal  background with the Energy Development Corp. (EDC) in the Philippines and as a copywriter, he has grown into the main voice for ThinkGeoEnergy in our daily reporting on geothermal activities worldwide. Following embarking on a new professional journey being involved in pushing geothermal development for district heating, it is now time for me to take a step back and officially hand over the responsibility of daily news posting.

Carlo Ace Cariaga

Therefore, I am tremendously proud to name Carlo Cariaga as the Editor-in-Chief of ThinkGeoEnergy. A major milestone in the existence of the site, and not an easy one for me having steered reporting very much since the inception of the site back in 2008. As Content Manager for ThinkGeoEnergy, he has grown into the key voice for the site, reporting on global geothermal development on a daily basis, so it is time to formalise his role and make him the main editor. Congratulations Carlo and thank you for the trust and dedication.

Earlier this year, ThinkGeoEnergy has gone through a process in which we adapted our approach to organization and management, establishing clear roles for the team alongside our key activities, such as content, social media, research, sales and the management of our Spanish and Turkish sites. With this we are targeting a professionalisation of our work, the site and our business activities, offering additional services and content to our readership.

We will soon officially launch the Focus on Geothermal Webinar series on our site. A collaboration with the agency Enerchange, our long-term partner among others with the IGC event series, the webinar series started in 2020 has been able to garner a strong footing in the geothermal sector and we hope to strengthen its reach by integrating it into the ThinkGeoEnergy platform.

Our research activities are also seeing an increased emphasis, with a research team hired to expand our already extensive database on geothermal project development activities globally and better serve clients in the industry.

Soon, we are also starting our campaign for the 2023 Advertisement year, engaging with current advertisers and those that have shown an interest to engage.

These are exciting times for the geothermal sector and we hope with the strengthening of our operations we will be ready for further growth and engagement with industry.

Please help me in welcoming Carlo in his new position. He can be reached via the email carlo@thinkgeoenergy.com
