The European Geothermal Energy Congress 2016 to take place September 19-26, 2016 in Strasbourg/ France has issued a call for papers with a deadline of Oct. 31, 2016.

The European Geothermal Congress to take place The organisers request the submission of abstracts for papers concerning all areas of geothermal energy use, from very shallow systems to deep drilling and high-enthalpy fields. Both the technological and the social-economic side will be covered.

The programme will be divided into three basic threads or “streams”, using the practices and standards appropriate to each respective target group.

We hope, however, that you will use this unique opportunity to look outside your own normal sphere or interest and learn about the work of those in other fields, all connected by the desire to give geothermal energy the spot on the energy landscape it deserves!

The three streams are:

  • Politics and Market
  • Technology and Best Practice
  • Science

Please consider which stream is appropriate for your proposal, as reviewing and acceptance procedures will vary according to the usual practice in these fields (details via the congress website, see link below).

In addition to these streams, country update reports will be provided as usual. Please do not submit abstracts for country updates through the website; a dedicated team will be in contact with prospective authors of the country update reports. If you wish to contribute to a report, and have not been contacted by end of September 2015, contact the conference secretariat at info@europeangeothermalcongress.eu.

The language of the congress will be English almost exclusively.

For some sessions (opening, geothermal in France) simultaneous translation will be available. If you consider submitting an abstract in French, please contact the secretariat to see if it would fit into a translated session. No guarantee can be given for the option to present a paper, once accepted, in any other language than English.

Please submit your 1-page-abstracts, using the template given on the website, via the online submission tool
