The Canadian Geothermal Energy Association (CanGEA) invites to its Annual Conference, which is this year combined with two workshops before and after the full conference day. The event will take place March 26-28, 2014 in Calgary, Alberta.

The Canadian Geothermal Energy Association (CanGEA) will be holding its annual Conference together with workshops, March 26-28, 2014 in Calgary, Alberta.

Continuing its PowEarthful Theme, the Association says that “there is no better time than now for Canada to tap into its high temperature and direct use geothermal energy resources for clean power and heat.

Join CanGEA in Calgary for its annual conference and workshops where you will hear about recent project developments, the
national database and CanGEA’s mapping initiatives. You will also have the opportunity to participate in panel discussions being
held on geothermal policy and resource estimation. Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to help move forward the National Geothermal Roadmap and Implementation Plan, and contribute to the development of the Canadian direct use industry.

Wednesday, March 26th: Project Developers’ Technology Needs – Workshop

By Invitation Only. This is Canada’s opportunity to identify best practices, technologies and required innovations for geothermal project developers in order to further the geothermal industry in Canada. This session will be professionally facilitated by Dr. Graeme Beardsmore of Hot Dry Rocks and documented for further action in CanGEA’s Geothermal Technology Roadmap and Implementation Plan.

Thursday, March 27st: Industry Presentations (Conference Day)

The CanGEA Industry Day will help bring you up to speed on the development of geothermal energy in Canada and by Canadians internationally. Learn about new geothermal projects in Canada and internationally, and hear about the provincial and federal government programs that have helped nurture the industry in the last few years.

Friday, March 28nd: Direct Use Workshop with Dr. John Lund

Dr. John Lund is the foremost authority in the direct use geothermal industry. This workshop will establish the foundation for a sustainable direct use industry in Canada.
