The Colombian Geothermal Association (AGEOCOL) has announced the Eighth National Geothermal Meeting (RENAG 2026), which will take place from October 27 – 30, 2026 at the facilities of the SENA Industry and Services Center, in Villavicencio, Meta, Colombia.
Organized by AGEOCOL in partnership with the National Learning Service (SENA) and with the support of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, RENAG 2026 will bring together professionals, researchers, institutions, companies, students and representatives of the energy sector to exchange knowledge, present scientific and technological advances, and analyze the prospects for the development of geothermal energy in Colombia.
Since its creation, the National Geothermal Meeting has established itself as the main meeting place for the Colombian geothermal community, promoting dialogue between academia, industry and public entities, as well as strengthening alliances that contribute to the sustainable use of geothermal resources and the country’s energy transition.
Call for abstracts
As part of the preparatory activities, AGEOCOL has opened a call for abstracts of technical and scientific work. Researchers and professionals can submit their contributions in the form of oral presentations and posters, with the aim of including them in the event’s technical program.
The call for abstracts will be open from July 31 to August 31, 2026. Proposals should be sent to renag@ageocol.org , indicating in the subject line “RENAG ABSTRACT FirstNameLastName”. To facilitate the preparation of proposals, AGEOCOL has made available to authors a template for the presentation of abstracts, which can be downloaded from its website or directly at the following link: Abstract Template
The organization also announced that the call for companies and institutions interested in sponsoring the event remains open. Those interested can request information by emailing renag@ageocol.org .
With an agenda focused on innovation, research, the exchange of experiences and cooperation among the different actors in the sector, RENAG 2026 reaffirms the growing interest in geothermal energy as a renewable energy source capable of contributing to the diversification of the energy matrix and the sustainable development of Colombia.
