Nevada Geothermal Power and Ormat are expected to start drilling at their Crump Geyser project in Oregon this month.

Reported by local news, “Construction is expected to begin soon on a $120 million geothermal plant at Crump Geyser in a remote area of southern Oregon.

The Herald and News in Klamath Falls reports that Nevada Geothermal Power Inc. and Ormat Nevada Inc. are expected to begin drilling the first of 3 geothermal wells near the community of Adel later this month.

The plant should generate up to 30 megawatts of power and is scheduled to be in service before the end of 2013.

Crump Geyser lies about 34 miles east of Lakeview near the Nevada border. It has been regarded as a potential source of geothermal energy for decades.”
