The Dubai Electricity & Water Authority Invites Tender for Consultancy Services for Pre-Feasibility Studies for Assessment of geothermal potential for power generation and/ or water desalination.

Dubai in the Emirates is setting itself an ambitious 75% renewable energy target of by 2050. As part of those plans, it is looking at geothermal energy and wave energy, as reported by Power Engineering Intl.

So far solar power has been a key focus by Dubai Electricity & Water Authority, but there have been studies on geothermal, tidal wave and ocean current power generation.

The Dubai Electricity & Water Authority Invites Tender for Consultancy Services for Pre-Feasibility Studies for Assessment of Renewables in Dubai – amonng others for – Geothermal Potential For Power Generation And/Or Water Desalination

Deadline for the submission of bids is July 17, 2016.

The target for the Emirate is 25% of electricity to come from renewable energy by 2030, with a large part of that to come from solar.
