EnergySource celebrates commencement of construction at its Hudson Ranch I project near the Salton Sea, California and the opening of its office in El Centro.

“EnergySource LLC, an El Centro-based national renewable energy developer, hosted an open-house to celebrate the commencement of construction of its 49 MW Hudson Ranch I geothermal power plant in Calipatria near the Salton Sea on Thursday October 21, 2010. The groundbreaking ceremony follows on Friday October 22 at EnergySource’s Hudson Ranch I geothermal plant in Calipatria.

“This is an exciting time for us at EnergySource” said President Dave Watson “We chose the ideal place here in the Imperial Valley to do business. People here have exceptionally hospitable and welcoming.”

As they produce clean, carbon neutral, sustainable and renewable geothermal energy, EnergySource is creating locally beneficial, well-paid jobs for qualified Imperial County residents. Nearly two hundred and fifty jobs are being created during construction of the 49 MW Hudson Ranch I geothermal project. Once commissioned and operating, Hudson Ranch I intends to recruit and hire 35 skilled plant operations employees. “It is a natural process when companies open they make investments in their communities and they also create jobs” Watson stated “ and because the Imperial Valley is receptive to new business it makes the area an ideal place to do business” he added.
