The geothermal energy sector is growing and more and more companies share details about their activities in the sector, such as Kurita.

Geothermal energy and its utilization is not free of challenges, including those related to the composition of the subsurface geology. This can have effects such as corrosion, high amounts of silica deposits, microbiological growth, scaling problems, fluid contamination and specific mineral deposits.

Kurita is working on these challenges with its product range covering the treatment of the different zones of the process and offers innovative solutions for turbines, drills, etc.

In 2020, Kurita acquired the order and supplied cooling tower chemicals to Olkaria Unit 5 Geothermal plant in Kenya.  With its local partner D&S, Kurita is working on the development of a range of treatment options for the country’s geothermal power plants through Kengen Olkaria. (CapitalFM)
