Turkiye's Energy Market Regulatory Authority has published an expropriation decision that gives way to the construction of JES-3 and JES-7 geothermal power plants of Greeneco.

By the Presidential Decisions No. 6225 and 6226 published in the Official Gazette, an Expropriation Decision is required for the Greeneco Geothermal Power Plant (JES)-3 and Greeneco JES-7 to be established in the Denizli Province, Sarayköy District of Turkiye. The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) has now made the decision to expropriate these land parcels.

More specifically, the Expropriation Decision published in the Official Gazette pertains to parcels 14 and 15 in the Tekke District in Sarayköy, Denizli for the construction of the JES-3 while the expropriation of parcels 311, 1047, and 1049 in the Kabaagaç District of Sarayköy allows for the construction of JES-7.

Last year, we reported on the plans of Greeneco Energy to establish a seventh Geothermal Power Plant in the Denizli Sarayköy district with an investment of approximately 978 million TL. The Greeneco geothermal power plant complex in Denizli consists of 6 geothermal power generation units built in three phases. The first three units, each with a capacity of 12.8 MW, were installed in 2016. In the second phase, 2 units of 12.8 MW and one unit of 23 MW were added. The 6th unit with a capacity of 26 MW was added in 2020 and the total installed power generation capacity reached 106 MW.
