Titled “Emission Control Technologies in Geothermal Energy,” the 2022 GECO Summer School is open to professionals in the relevant disciplines in their early careers. It aims to train the future workforce in geothermal carbon capture, storage, and utilization (CCSU) and to foster knowledge on the science and engineering aspects addressed and developed within the GECO project framework.

Geothermal Emission Control (GECO) is an EU-funded research project under the Horizon 2020 programme that aims to provide clean, safe, and cost-efficient non-carbon and sulfur-emitting geothermal energy across Europe and globally. It seeks to build on the success of the CarbFix project by creating opportunities for the re-use of gas streams, thus increasing the revenues of geothermal projects.
