Icelandic engineering group Mannvit has announced, that its German subsidiary Geothermie Neubrandenburg (GTN) will become the Geoscience Center of the Mannvit group.

Germany-based Geothermie Neubrandenburg GmbH (GTN) – celebrating its 25th anniversary this year – will become the Geoscience Centre of the Mannvit group.  GTN will continue developing the geoscientific capacities, including; geology, geochemistry, geophysics, reservoir engineering and drilling engineering within the entire group.   As a result, GTN will provide comprehensive support to the international geothermal activities of the group, in addition to the development of new specialized services.

Mannvit’s acquisition of Geothermie Neubrandenburg GmbH in 2008, laid the foundation for one of the biggest geothermal consultancies worldwide. Today, more than 120 engineers and geoscientists are active in geothermal projects with offices in Iceland, Norway, Greenland, Hungary, Indonesia, Chile, and Germany.

After a year of preparation, the decision was made to develop the GTN offices (Neubrandenburg, Berlin, Unterhaching) as the Geoscience Centre for the entire Mannvit group. The German offices will maintain a close link with the Icelandic geoscientists, drilling- and reservoir engineers to capitalize on the Icelandic geothermal know-how and decades of experience in the implementation of geothermal projects in Europe, Asia, and South America. This cooperation will form an outstanding basis for further business activities of GTN and Mannvit.

About GTN

Geothermie Neubrandenburg GmbH (GTN) is an internationally active consultancy and planning office of engineers and geologists. The business activities cover the entire range of geotechnical and engineering solutions to geothermal energy supply. Projects can be supported from the geological exploration via the designing of the deep wells and the surface thermal water loop up to the heat and power generation plants and the corresponding consumer systems. The know-how acquired through MBO with GTN‘s foundation in 1991 has been extended and developed ever since. GTN can refer to more than 20 years of experience of the staff members gathered in the assessment, development and utilization of geothermal potentials.

There are refence projects for almost all technologies developed and offered by GTN. GTN is partner of private and public developers, authorities, architects, expert building engineering and research facility planners who are looking for the realization of the thermal usage potentials of the soil.
