Hybrid power plant license of Kizildere 1 GPP has been approved
The license amendment application made to EMRA for Kizildere 1 GPP, which is operated by Zorlu Energy in Saraykoy district of Denizli province, has been approved.
According to the public disclosure platform (KAP), EMRA has approved the application of Zorlu Dogal Elektrik Üretimi A?, a wholly owned indirect subsidiary of Zorlu Energy, to amend the generation license of its Kizildere 1 geothermal power plant.
This amendment allows for increasing the power plant’s installed capacity from 15 MWe to 15.99 MWe to account for the integration of a solar power plant. The plant will thus be operating as a hybrid power plant, generating electricity from both solar and geothermal.
Similar efforts are underway for the Kizildere 2 and Kizildere 3 geothermal power plants, as we have previously reported. The purpose of the solar power plants is to generate the power needed for the internal consumption of the geothermal power plants. An additional 10MW and 21 MW will be generated in the hybrid power plants of Kizildere 2 and Kizildere 3, respectively.
