The newly elected Board members are a diverse and experienced group of professionals, each possessing unique skills and expertise in their respective fields. This group of leaders is committed to driving the IGA’s mission to foster the sustainable development of geothermal resources and facilitate global collaboration among stakeholders.

Key responsibilities of the new Board include shaping the strategic direction of the IGA, overseeing the organization’s activities and initiatives, and guiding its advocacy and outreach efforts. The Board will work closely with the IGA Executive Team and the various committees to advance the organization’s vision and goals.

Outgoing IGA President Andrea Blair shared their thoughts on the transition: “It has been an honor to serve the geothermal sector as the President of the IGA. It has been a tumultuous few years. However, I am pleased at how we have continued to operate and push towards our future vision.  The new board are a strong group of individuals and I have every confidence that they will continue to drive the organization forward, fostering innovation and collaboration in the geothermal industry. Geothermal has a key role to play in creating an equitable and prosperous world and I look forward to supporting the new board to achieve those aspirations.

With the new Board of Directors in place, the IGA is poised to continue making significant strides in promoting geothermal energy as a clean, renewable, and sustainable solution for global energy needs. The organization is eager to foster collaboration, develop new partnerships, and further enhance its global presence and impact.

ThinkGeoEnergy would like to extend our congratulations to our very own Oscar Llamosa Ardila, the Regional Editor of our Spanish language platform PiensaGeotermia, for being elected as part of the Board.
