IIGCE, Jakarta – Pre-conference workshop on optimizing decisions in geothermal exploration IIGCE Pre-Conference Workshop by INAGA and GRC - Sept. 3-4, 2018
Alexander Richter 24 Jul 2018

As part of this year's Indonesia International Geothermal Convention & Exhibition 2018, INAGA and GRC are holding a special pre-conference workshop on September 3-4, 2018 on "integrated subsurface analysis to optimize decisions in geothermal exploration)".

As part of this year’s Indonesia International Geothermal Convention & Exhibition 2018, the Indonesian Geothermal Association (INAGA) and the Geothermal Resources Council (GRC) are holding a special pre-conference workshop September 3-4, 2018.

The workshop focuses on geothermal industry best practices for integrating geoscience data into resource conceptual models in support of decisions to design surveys, target wells, assess geothermal resource capacity and commit to an economically viable power plant development strategy.

Geothermal industry experts will present practical interpretation guidelines for the most common geothermal exploration methods. These presentations will introduce hands-on exercises in which teams of participants will use real geology, geochemistry, geophysics, and well test data from a geotheraml field to design surveys and integrate the resulting data into resource conceptual models. Teams will use these models to target wells, estimate MWe capacity distributions and assess risk in investment decisions for surveys, drilling and power plant construction. To ensure that everyone progresses, teams of 4-6 participants will be coached through the exercises by industry experts.
