With additional capacity added this month in Turkey and the U.S., the installed geothermal power generation capacity has reached 14,013 MW.
The global geothermal power generation capacity has reached a major milestone breaking the 14,000 MW mark. With the announcement of start of operation of the 24 MW Tungsten Mountain geothermal power plant by Ormat in Nevada, the installed geothermal power generation capacity has reached 14,013 MW.
With the incredible growth of geothermal in Turkey, it is maybe not surprising that this might not be the end of things for 2017, as there are additional MWs expected to come online before the year end.
For now, lets celebrate for another milestone achieved.
