Job Description

CGG’s Geothermal Science group is a multi-disciplinary team of geoscientists and data scientists. CGG has a long-established position in high-enthalpy geothermal projects, and we are currently leveraging our sedimentary basin exploration and data analytics experience to expand into low-moderate enthalpy geothermal.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing geothermal technical support and leadership to the Geothermal Science team. You will be familiar with aspects of the Energy Transition and CGG’s broad range of technical capabilities. The appointed individual will work alongside subject matter experts in CGG to identify areas of collaboration and potential new, innovative business opportunities.

As a large part of the role involves technical project oversight, this must be a demonstrable area of strength. The role will require client and conference presentations; as such, we need an individual who has excellent presentation skills and the ability to communicate technical solutions clearly.

  • Demonstrate clear leadership and communication to direct reports and other team members to support their technical development and delivery of technically excellent products
  • Provide technical oversight and input into current projects, client proposals and client meetings
  • Co-ordination and preparation for client meetings, internal collaboration, and conference presentations
  • Participate effectively in wider discussions across CGG to develop innovative technical solutions which capitalise on CGG’s multidisciplinary strength
  • Gather market intelligence, develop new project ideas, and anticipate future client requirements
  • Demonstrate a strong focus on general team performance & achievement
  • Provide strong project management for all active projects
  • Deliver outstanding customer service

Qualifications

The candidate requires to be at a senior technical level or have team leadership experience.

BSc in geological/geophysical sciences, but ideally with an additional MSc or PhD in a Geoscience discipline and proven extensive experience in their key discipline
