The French Association of Geothermal Professionals (AFPG) renewed its Board of Directors and its Bureau on the occasion of its General Assembly held on June 20 in Paris.

Jean-Jacques Graff, ES Geothermie, a subsidiary of Electricité de Strasbourg, is the new president of the association, divided into two sections, one for deep geothermal energy, the other for surface geothermics.

The new office is representative of the French geothermal sector. It includes representatives of surface geothermal energy for heat and cold projects for individual houses, collective dwellings and tertiary buildings. These operations are assisted by geothermal heat pumps.

It also includes representatives of deep geothermal energy whose applications range from urban heating networks to agro-industrial applications (agricultural greenhouses, etc.) and to heat and power co-generation plants (as is already the case in France). Alsace).

The office intends to confirm the development of geothermal energy “renewable, decarbonated, local and non-intermittent, which advantageously replaces fossil fuels. “According to the AFPG, geothermal energy” responds  effectively and sustainably to the heat and cold needs of living areas and economic activity basins. AFPG brings together some one hundred geothermal energy companies in metropolitan France and the Overseas Territories and various major stakeholders in the sector (competitiveness cluster, other energy unions, education superior…).
