The 14th NRW Geothermal Conference will be taking place in conjunction with the 15th anniversary of the International Geothermal Centre in Bochum, September 6-7, 2018.

The 14th NRW Geothermal Conference will take place this year on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the International Geothermal Centre (GZB) from Thursday, 6 September to Friday, 7 September 2018 at its location in Bochum.

Numerous guests from politics, science and industry are expected, who will be welcomed by State Secretary Christoph Dammermann, Ministry of Economics, Innovation, Digitisation and Energy of North Rhine-Westphalia. Mr. Dammermann will then also award the most innovative districts/municipalities.

In addition to the head of the GZB, Prof. Dr. Rolf Bracke and the chairman of the LEE NRW and member of the “Coal Commission”, Mr. Reiner Priggen, Mr. Dammermann will also participate in the following panel discussion on the topic: “Wärmewende in the Rhine-Ruhr Region in the Post-Coal Age”. The President of the Bochum University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Jürgen Bock, will open the event.

On Friday afternoon the GZB invites all interested citizens to an open day. The entire institute is preparing itself with great personal commitment for this part of the event and looks forward to introducing itself to its guests and discussing with them the opportunities of the heat transition for the Ruhr region, such as the use of mine water as a heat reservoir.
