In a recent quarterly Energy overview, the New Zealand Ministry reports that renewable energy electricity generation has increased to 78% of New Zealand’s electricity.

The latest update from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) in NZ has published the data for the second quarter of 2014 edition.

The report, which contains MBIE’s latest data and analysis of energy supply and demand, shows renewable electricity generation increased to 78% of New Zealand’s electricity.

This included an increase in geothermal generation of 18% compared to the June quarter 2013, reflecting increased investment in geothermal capacity.
