The annual Praxisforum Geothermie.Bayern to take place this year 16-18 October 2018 has released its program, entailing workshops a field trip and series of exciting topics for the conference day.

The program for this year’s Praxisforum Geothermie.Bayern from 16 to 17 October 2018 has now been published on the event-website. Ther early bird booking discount is until July 31, 2018 valid. This years’s Praxisforum Geothermie.Bayern will take place for the first time on three days, from October 16 to 18, 2018. Following the example of the International Geothermal Conference in Freiburg, the event begins on the first day with various workshops. The second day is the main day of the congress and on the third day the GeoTHOUR leads to geothermal projects in the surroundings of Munich.

With the Heat Summit, in cooperation with the EGEC and a workshop on the Operation of Geothermal Plants will start this year’s Praxisforum Geothermie.Bayern on the afternoon of 16 October. In this context the geothermal heat use will be presented and discussed under different aspects. Among other representatives the Stadtwerke München and representatives of the geothermal project in Geneva have promised a presentation. Further presentations are planned on the projects in the surroundings of Strasbourg and Paris.

The workshop on the “0peration of geothermal plants”, which takes place in the parallel with the Heat Summit, focuses on the technical development status of the feed pumps in the first part and the precipitation problem of the thermal water in the second part. Amongst other topics, there will be an overview of the technology in the Bavarian Molasse Basin and a presentation on the influence of scaling on submersible centrifugal pumps on the power and heat production of geothermal plants. In the second part of the workshop the CO2 input for preventing precipitation in Traunreut will be presented.

The main Congress Day on 17 October relies on the proven structure with keynotes and discussion forums. The individual forums revolve around the topics

  •  The Reservoir of the Upper Jura

In the evening of the Congress Day, all participants are invited again to the Praxisforum Lounge. The last day is dedicated to the visit of geothermal plants. Among other plants, the GeoTHOUR leads to the current project of the SWM, in the combined heat and power plant South.
