The 2022 Peer Review will systematically examine 62 GTO-funded projects on geothermal. All sessions can be viewed online and will be open to the public.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Geothermal Technologies Office (GTO) will be hosting the 2022 Peer Review in May 2022. During this series of sessions, 62 GTO-funded projects will be presented and systematically reviewed by external subject matter experts from industry, academia, and federal agencies.

Registration for the event is currently open via this link. The sessions will take place over five days spread throughout May 2022. All session will be virtual and open to the public. After the event, the presentation will be posted and publicly available on the DOE-GTO page.

The 2022 Peer Review presentations are organized by six research areas:

  • Exploration and Characterization
  • Subsurface Accessibility
  • Resource Maximization
  • Subsurface Enhancement and Sustainability
  • Data, Modeling, and Analysis

These research areas are based on the GTO’s Multi-Year Program Plan (MYPP) which outlines a 5-year plan for the activities that GTO will pursue to support the growth and long-term contribution of geothermal energy to the U.S. electricity grid. The peer review is an opportunity to learn more about GTO research, development, demonstration, and deployment projects.

The detailed programme and schedule may be viewed at the official event page.
