KenGen has published an RFP for a feasibility study for a planned Olkaria I Unit 7 geothermal power plant. RFP documents are due on 17 November 2022.

KenGen has published a Request for Proposals (RFP) for consultancy services for the “Olkaria VII Geothermal Power Plant Feasibility Study.” The completed RFP Document must be submitted online on or before 17th November 2022 at 10:00 AM EAT thru the KenGen e-Procurement platform.

In relation to the RFP, there will be a mandatory site visit and Pre-Bid Conference on the 1st of November starting at 10:00 AM EAT at the Geothermal Plaza in Olkaria-Naivasha.

In June 2022, KenGen successfully completed the commissioning of the 83.3-WM Olkaria I Unit 6 geothermal power plant. This has increased the total geothermal power generation capacity of Kenya to 944 MW, placing it within striking distance of joining the 1-GW club.
