Officials of the St. Gallen geothermal project announced today that the project will be abandoned due to insufficient water in the well drilled.

While expected for some time following challenges with gas in the well that was drilled for the geothermal project in the city of St. Gallen in Switzerland, it is now official.

The project will be abandoned due to insufficient water to continue the project for the construction of a geothermal power plant.

The announcement came today. The officials of the city and the project announced that the risks of further small-scale earthquakes and financial issues have contributed to the decision.

This is a big blow to the geothermal ambitions in Switzerland.
