Ongoing research programs are focused on demonstrating the commercial viability of sCO2 power cycles at increasingly larger power outputs.

Supercritical CO2 Power Cycles for turbines have surfaced quite a number of times (See link) as a very promising option to boost geothermal efficiency, yet very little has been implemented in real life scenarios.

A recent article in Breaking Energy cover the issue and provides a very interesting read on the current status of the technology alongside some background information on the benefits and current limitations.

Soon we might see the commercial application of  sCO2 power cycles on the geothermal industry.
