Joseph Bonafin, sales manager at Turboden talks in an interview about his company and their projects, specially in Turkey.

In a recent interview with Joseph Bonafin, sales manager at Turboden, the manager announces that the company is looking into applying ORC (Organic Rankine Cycle) technology to projects as large as 100 MW. Traditionally ORC Technology is applied on smaller geothermal projects, yet the firm is willing to expand the scale of their plants.

The interview focuses on the geothermal developments done by the company in Turkey. Mr Bonafin mentions in said interview: “we have noticed a sharp increase in interest in the development of larger-scale geothermal projects using ORC technology. This is attributable to the growth of the Turkish market for geothermal. In the past six months, we have noticed a great increase of interest in the development of Turkish geothermal projects by foreign investors from even very well established energy markets such as the United States. This partly spurred our decision to expand in Turkey.”

We have recently covered in ThinkGeoEnergy that the country is looking into doubling their power capacity by 2023.

At the moment, the company has more than 30 ORC projects in the making for 2015 alone, yet the firm seems to be determined to develop larger scale plants.
