Webinar – Industrial geothermal operations, Alsace/ France – Dec. 10, 2021 Webinar announcement
Alexander Richter 6 Dec 2021

Join this webinar with Clement Baujard, who heads the subsurface engineering department at Strasbourg-France-based ES Géothermie. He will provide an update on the industrial geothermal activities at Soultz-sous-Forets, Rittershofen and Illkirch.

As part of the regular IGC Webinar series – a partnership of Enerchange and ThinkGeoEnergy – we are proud to host this week’s presenter Clemant Baujard of ÉS Geothermie from Strasbourg, France, who will provide some “Feedback from the industrial geothermal operations and environmental monitoring at the Soultz-sous-Forets,  Rittershofen and Illkirch sites.

After the presentation you will have the opportunity to discuss and ask further questions.

Clement Baujard is heading the subsurface engineering department at ES-Ge?othermie since 2018, after more than 10 years working as a reservoir engineer, in charge of reservoir characterisation and geothermal project development for industrial projects in this company and abroad. He has a geosciences engineering degree and a PhD in multiphasic fluid flow numerical simulation in deep fractured reservoirs.

The 1.7 MW Soultz-sous-Foret geothermal power plant started operations in 2016, yet the site has seen geothermal operations earlier with groundbreaking EGS research. The Rittershofen site is another interesting field with geothermal heat production for an industrial player nearby. The Illkirch geothermal project by ÉS Geothermie reported the successful drilling of its first well in 2019 with no further details available at this point.
