Registration is currently open for a webinar on "The Future for Geothermal Energy in the UK" on October 6, 2022 featuring Dr. Corinna Abesser from the British Geological Survey.

A webinar on “The Future for Geothermal Energy in the UK” will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022, 4-5 PM BST (CEST). The speaker for the webinar will be Dr. Corinna Abesser, Head of Geothermal at the British Geological Survey (BGS).  Registration for the webinar is currently open and can be done through this link.

The untapped potential of geothermal energy across the United Kingdom represents a vast opportunity in terms of our energy transition and climate commitments, but how do we reach that potential? We need a geothermal sector vision and development roadmap to help get us there.

In this webinar, Dr. Corinna Abesser will build upon here recent discussions at the UK Parliamentary committee panel discussion on geothermal, set the scene for where we are now, and outline the path we need to take to realize the full potential of geothermal energy in the UK.

This webinar has been jointly organized by the Queen’s University Centre for Sustainability, Equality, and Climate Action (SECA), the Geological Survey of Northern Ireland (GSNI), the Geothermal Association of Ireland (GAI), and Geological Survey Ireland (GSI).
