PT Geo Dipa Energi changes name to PT Geothermal Nusantara

Over the weekend, President Director, PT Geo Dipa Energi (Persero) (GeoDipa), Riki Firmandha Ibrahim announced that PT. Geo Dipa Energi (Persero) (GeoDipa) will change its name to PT Geothermal Nusantara (Persero) this year. This is due to its expansion into geothermal energy and Indonesia’s government having entrusted the company to manage two additional geothermal areas along with its existing sites in Dieng and Path.

Currently PT Geo Dipa has four geothermal working areas (WKP), and has now been assigned WKP Umbul Telomoyo in Central Java and WKP Arjuno Welirang in East Java.

“WKP Arjuno Welirang has a resource potential of 180 MW, and we need to confirm the reserves so that we can contribute in illuminating the homes of the people of East Java and around the Arjuno area, in particular. The project is expected to be in production by 2025 because project preparation will take about 5 to 8 years. We really need support from all parties, and especially the local government from the 5 districts around WKP and also the most important is the local community for the acceleration of economic development through the development of geothermal around our operations.” explained Ikbal, in a presentation.
